Curbside pick-up is live! Staff have been busy calling patrons and scheduling pick-up appointments. It’s been so wonderful to see some familiar faces.

A few reminders:

  • Place holds through your Minuteman account (find.minlib.net); staff will reach out when your hold is ready to be picked up.
  • The book drop at the Main Library is open for ALL returns; the book drop at the Endicott Branch Library will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
  • At this time we are not accepting book donations; please do not leave items at the library.

Visit dedhamlibrary.com for updates and information regarding the curbside pick-up program. Staff are available via email (dedhamissue@minlib.net) Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5pm.

Past Updates

PREVIOUS UPDATES

With guidance from the Town of Dedham and the Dedham Board of Health, the Dedham Public Library is excited to announce that a curbside pick-up program is tentatively scheduled to begin June 15th!

Curbside pick-up will be available Monday through Friday from 10-12 and 2-4 at the Main Library (43 Church Street). Patrons can request items through their online Minuteman Library Network account (http://find.minlib.net); please note that at this time we are only able to fulfill requests with Dedham material. Once your hold has been fulfilled, a staff member will call you to schedule a pick-up appointment. Staff will begin reaching out to patrons that have existing holds before moving on to fulfilling new requests.

Staff will be doing their best to fulfill holds in a timely manner; most holds will be fulfilled the day after the request has been made. Your patience is appreciated during this time.

We understand that this has been a difficult time for many people and we want to thank our patrons and the Dedham community for their continued support. Updates and information can be found at https://www.dedhamlibrary.com/; staff are available via email (dedhamissue@minlib.net) Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30.

(Updated 6/4/2020)

THE DEDHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO COVID-19.

The Dedham Public Library, with the Board of Library Trustees, has developed a plan to return library services to the Dedham community. We recently opened the book drop to begin quarantining returned items; the next step is to begin a curb-side pick up service. Library staff, with guidance from the Dedham Board of Health and the Town Administrator’s Office, are working on the details to provide this service while considering the safety of patrons and staff members; final details will be released soon.

We have expanded our virtual programs to include

--Ukulele Meet-ups on Tuesdays at 4pm

--Spring Inspired Watercolor Painting on Thursdays at 2pm

--Middle Grade Book Club

--YA All Day Book Group

--Weekly career guidance/job searching tips provided by RIZEcareer (stay tuned for more career/job related programs!)

--Live Sing Alongs for Children via Zoom on Mondays at 10:30

--Irish Heritage Presentation

--Bicycle Maintenance Workshops

Visit our website for complete program information.

(Updated 5/21/2020)

The Dedham Public Library is developing a plan to slowly bring back physical services to our patrons.

The first step in that plan is to allow patrons to return their books. Beginning Monday, May 11, the book drop at the Main Library (43 Church Street) will be open for returns. We are asking patrons whose last name begins with A-L return their books on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; last names beginning with M-Z return on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. We want to remind patrons that the due date for all items is still June 30th. At this time the library is not receiving book donations; please do not put donations in the book drop or leave them outside the buildings.

We understand that this has been a difficult time for many people and we want to thank our patrons and the Dedham community for their continued support. We will provide updates as plans develop. Until then, links to our digital collection can be found at https://www.dedhamlibrary.com/; staff are available for questions at dedhamissue@minlib.net.
